New Nephew!
I wanted to let you know that my new nephew, Elijah Joseph, entered the world today, February 26 at 10:36 a.m. My sister-in-law, Jennifer, was due February 15 but Eli decided to wait a little while before making his grand entrance. He came in 11 days "late" (or should I say ready?) and weighed in at 9 lbs. 8 oz. Both mommy and baby are doing well. It was a long day for everyone. They went into the hospital yesterday at around 11 a.m. and spent the rest of the day preparing for contractions, which did not start until 8 p.m. last night. Fortunately a healthy Eli joined us mid-morning.
I am so excited for Matt, Jen and their son Jacob! It is wonderful that they have a new little person to love. It makes Iain and I look forward to our little one even more than ever. We've been following Matt and Jen's journey for months and it makes our own adventure seem as if it is coming to an close.
Today puts me at 30 weeks of pregnancy and I'm still feeling good. I have the typically woes, especially some funky, lumpy feet, but my energy levels are high during the day. I survived a snowstorm in Boston last weekend but managed to make it home to spend my birthday with Iain. We had a great day together.
Childbirth class is all day Saturday and I'm sure I'll have some stories after that! Have a great week!

Entering the home stretch!
Today begins the third trimester and month 7. How exciting! I'm feeling great for the most part. My back aches a little bit but usually only in the morning. Sleeping is still enjoyable but I toss and turn a lot. Jen K. was kind enough to deem my feet and ankles "cankles" when she saw them because my ankles are no more. My calves and feet now merge without any visible bones. I'm always swollen by the end of the day! Kinda gross I know.
From now on, I'm off to the doctor every two weeks until I reach month 9. Then it will be once a week. To be honest, I'm pretty tired of going to the doctor but I know that it is definitely a necessity. We do pretty much the same thing each time I go. I've decided to post a baby bump picture, especially for my friend Michelle. She suggested it so here it is girlie! I don't know if I will be brave enough to post one from month 8 or 9 but we'll see how I feel when we get there. The picture shown here is from the middle of month 6 (I'm slightly bigger now). My very pregnant and glowing sister in law has posted pictures from both months 8&9 and she looks so happy. Jennifer is due any day now so keep her and my brother in your thoughts (http://www.sloanchronicles.blogspot.com/).
Everything else is going well. Today we were been blasted with snow, and ice is on its way tonight. Hopefully the university will grant a delay tomorrow... one of the perks for still working at a "school". Have a great night!
Yes, folks we have doors
Okay, to bring you all up to speed, Iain and I have been busy trying to get our house in order for the arrival of the baby. Thankfully we had some much needed help from Jen and Jason Kosior. For those of you who don't know, Jen K., was my roommate for four years of college and Jason is her husband. These generous and courageous people traveled to Shippensburg this past weekend and spent two days helping us with two major projects- hanging multiple doors throughout the house and painting the baby's room. When Iain and I bought our house, we never noticed that we were missing several bedroom and closet doors. We also had one door fall off the hinges and I've been looking at the inside of our hall closet for over a year. Although we are relatively neat people, I'm sorry to say that the inside of our closet has been staring back at me for way too long. Fortunately, this has been taken care of. It is amazing what a different the new doors make. We've also painted the baby's room a warm yellow to go with the green carpet. The colors look really good together and overall make the room very colorful. Once we get our furniture together as well as hang curtains and pictures, Baby Burnett should be all set.
Also, prior to Jen and Jason's arrival, Iain and I tackled our atrocity of a computer room. This room was a pre-teen girl's bedroom from two owners prior to us, and it was absolutely hideous- purple, black and yellow. I've posted one picture-- ew! I hated it. Iain and I managed to remove the border, paint the walls and move the furniture around. Needless to say, it looks a million times better, and we look forward to having many guests stay in the room.
So far, so good. Things are falling together and I am grateful since I began the third trimester today! How exciting! Enjoy the pictures.
