Making Sleeping Progress

We have been making some progress with Callum's sleep. He's definitely going to sleep easier for both naps and at nighttime. Although, he still cries when put in his Pack N Play, more so at naps than bed, he isn't getting as upset about being placed down to go to sleep. The crying has gone from an hour (brutal!) to 15 minutes. Last night at bed, he didn't cry at all and fell asleep in about 5 minutes! We check on him frequently to make sure that he is alright when he is crying and overall I am handling the whole thing a bit better than in the beginning. It is terrible to listen to your baby cry but his sleep and well being is the most important thing. He is now getting several hours of uninterrupted sleep during the day AND at night. The past two nights, he slept a total of 8 hours- five of those consecutively- which means that Mom is also getting 8 hours of sleep. We will keep persevering through this challenge.

Thanks for the support. Eli was sleeping from about 9:30-10:00pm until 5:45-6:00am prior to the whole "let's try letting him do it by himself" thing. SO, getting up in the middle of the night is a regression for us so to speak. We' re going to keep trying through the week and see how things go!
