At long last some sleep
Hi folks- yes we are still alive. Once again things have been hectic and I haven't really had time to post. The university where I work is on spring break so although I have to work (I'm not faculty), things are much more relaxed. I've been able to do some emails and projects from home which is amazing. They also decided as a cost cutting measure to close the building where I work so I am sort of a nomad until next Monday. Anyway, the Burnetts are well. Callum is currently in bed snoring as he spent most of the day getting into everything in his sight. He's an expert crawler now and is very, very fast. His current loves are refrigerator magnets, shredded cheese, baby puffs, yogurt and as always, the cats. Most recently, he had a nasty ear infection and some wheezing that the pediatrician didn't like so he was on antibiotics for about 10 days. Good thing they put something tasty in those things because he opened up like a baby bird anytime the dropper came his way. This past Monday, because of spring break, I had been planning to take a personal day (i.e. Callum goes to daycare and Mommy stays at home to lay in bed and wake the Today show), but somehow Callum got wind of it (I think Iain told him), and he decided to have two new teeth come in. So Sunday night, he was up throughout the night with the pain of the teeth and thus, Mommy and Callum had a personal day together. He's really had a rough time with these two top teeth but this morning one has broken through and the second is about to. Hopefully this will end his pain until the next couple make an appearance. This will bring his teeth total up to four. I'd like to extend some birthday wishes to some special little guys out there. AJ and Eli Sloan both celebrated 1st birthdays in the past two weeks, and my best friend, Jen's, little boy, Dante will turn 2 this weekend. On another note, Callum is FINALLY sleeping through the night granted he isn't sick or teething. This has provided us with great relief. His sleeping stretches are typically 11 or 12 hours and he is so happy when he wakes up. Too bad he didn't get the memo sooner because we would have welcomed 8 uninterrupted hours a few months ago. Better late than never I guess.
