Blueberries and Ya Ya's

As Callum sleeps and Iain watches Seinfeld, I will update you all on life. Callum continues to grow and grow. His favorite foods this week are blueberries, toast and yogurt (as always). Of course, he won't eat baby blueberries. I've introduced real ones and he loves them. His tastes are expensive already being that blueberries are the most expensive fruit ever! Watching Callum eat is always amusing. He scoops the food up and shovels it into his mouth with zest. He's normally covered from finger tip to forehead with food by the time the meal is done- I actually found toast crumbs in his diaper on Saturday morning- oh my! I used extra care to remove those since I didn't want crumb rash on top of his ever present diaper rash. He's given excellent care at both daycare and home in regards to diaper changes but the diaper rash is pretty prevalent since starting foods. We've also found that Callum likes every electrical item he is not allowed to have. We freely give him an old calculator, my cell phone (he can't get it open), and even an old remote. He prefers the real remote, baby monitor and the cat's fountain-perhaps he's trying to wash his fingers after lunch? I'm starting to feel like I say no a lot, and I probably do. Our house is pretty baby proofed although not perfect and he seems to get into everything! I've been tempted to attach Swiffer cloths to his knees on Saturday mornings since he covers more ground than my mop on an average weekend. His favorite words are Da Da and Ya Ya. Neither one has any specific meaning that we are aware of, although he will call Iain Da Da if he sees him. Ya ya is his all around phrase for "I'm here, I'm happy, Please listen to me jabber". Happy Saint Paddy's Day!
